Our tax services
We’re here to provide the expert knowledge and support you need to navigate tax complexities smoothly, ensuring your compliance is accurate and stress-free.
Our UK expat tax services
Whether you’re a UK resident working abroad or relocating to the country, our team of UK expat tax experts will have a solution.
Expat Tax Returns
Managing UK tax obligations from abroad is rarely straightforward, but with the right guidance, it doesn’t have to be a source of stress.
We handle the entire Self-Assessment process on your behalf, from helping you determine your residency, to filing your annual returns, ensuring all reliefs, credits and deductions are claimed.
Dual residence matters
If you live abroad but still have a home, family or income in the UK, there’s a real chance that both countries may consider you their tax resident, meaning that both can tax your income.
We can help you understand exactly where you stand and make sure you are not paying more than you should.
Capital Gains Tax
If you sell UK property while living overseas, you must file a Capital Gains Tax (NRCGT) return and pay any tax due within 60 days of completion.
This is a strict, “real-time” requirement that operates independently of your annual Self-Assessment.
HMRC Worldwide Disclosure
If you have income or assets outside the UK, HMRC may already know about them. Over 100 countries share financial data with HMRC automatically every year.
Coming forward before you receive a letter makes a significant difference to the outcome. If you have already received a letter, we can help with that too.
Inheritance tax
On 6 April 2025, the rules governing UK inheritance tax changed fundamentally.
If you are an expat or have spent significant time in the UK, assets you assumed were protected may no longer be. We help you understand your position under the new rules and plan accordingly.
Temporary Repatriation Facility (TRF)
If you were previously using the now-abolished remittance basis to shelter overseas income and gains, the Temporary Repatriation Facility offers a three-year window, closing in April 2028, to bring those funds into the UK tax system at a significantly reduced flat rate. We can help you decide whether to use it and ensure the process is handled correctly.
Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) Regime
If you are arriving in the UK for the first time, or returning after at least ten years away, the new Foreign Income and Gains regime allows for zero UK tax on your foreign income and gains for your first four years of residence.
This must be actively claimed each year. We can help you make sure you don’t miss it.
Statutory residence test
The UK Statutory Residence Test was introduced in 2013 and continues to be one of the most complex pieces of legislation in the arsenal of rules aimed at expats.
Whilst the test is complex, it does provide something that the previous rules did not: certainty over your UK residence status.
Business Set-up in Dubai
